The Copexa Core
Engineered specifically for modern aquariums, the Copexa Core translates hydrogen research into a practical tool. It provides the programmable hardware operators need to actively introduce and manage dissolved molecular hydrogen in both marine and freshwater environments.
The system adapts to your specific needs with two switchable flow rates (150 ml/min and 300 ml/min). Internal firmware manages delivery via four preset pulse modes—Micro, Light, Balanced, and Performance. This built-in logic ensures regulated hydrogen dosing whether you are managing a main display or supporting fish recovery in a dedicated quarantine system.

The Copexa Core is a flexible, programmable hydrogen delivery system designed for marine and freshwater aquariums up to 100 gallons. It provides operators with the hardware needed to actively target oxidative stress and investigate cellular stability in their own controlled environments.
Engineered for easy movement across all your setups, the compact modular unit with a top handle simplifies multi-tank care. One system can seamlessly provide specialized support across acclimation setups, quarantine systems, and main display tanks.
Control output with ease. Switch between reliable flow rates of 150 ml/min and 300 ml/min, then select from four intuitive preset pulse modes for consistent, set-and-forget hydrogen dosing. For complete operational versatility, the system is fully compatible with modern aquarium controllers and basic external timers.
A complete high-performance kit. Each unit includes a high-dissolution acrylic tube reactor, a durable stainless steel nano-diffuser, and a dedicated ventilation fan kit for safe and reliable operation. Use our online Hydrogen Protocol Calculator to quickly determine the correct runtime and mode for your specific tank size.
The Science of Molecular Hydrogen
The Copexa Core
Molecular hydrogen (H₂) is an emerging technology in aquatic care, offering a new approach to supporting biological resilience. While long-term studies on ornamental species are still developing, the foundational aquaculture research shows great potential.
Studies indicate that molecular hydrogen acts as a selective antioxidant, helping to neutralize harmful reactive oxygen species during periods of environmental or biological stress. In aquaculture research, short-term daily exposure to hydrogen-rich water has been linked to improved antioxidant enzyme activity, enhanced growth performance in specific fish, and increased survival rates during bacterial challenges.
Research has also shown potential for hydrogen to support ammonia reduction in the water column through shifts in microbial community activity during periods of high nitrogen loading.
In reef environments, controlled studies on specific hard corals have demonstrated that hydrogen exposure may help reduce bleaching symptoms and improve photosynthetic recovery following acute thermal stress.
The Copexa Core is engineered to capture this potential, providing a reliable, controlled method for integrating molecular hydrogen into your system to support a more resilient aquatic environment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s included with the Copexa Core?
The Copexa Core comes as a complete kit including the main unit, a 12-inch acrylic tube reactor, stainless steel nano-diffuser, 10 ft of tubing, an inline check valve, and a dedicated ventilation fan kit.
What is the warranty?
The Copexa Core includes a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
How loud is the unit?
The Copexa Core operates at a low noise level suitable for most home and office environments. The included ventilation fan produces a gentle airflow sound when running.
Can I run it 24/7 or only in pulses?
The unit is designed for pulsed operation using the built-in modes or external timers/controllers. We recommend pulsed protocols for best results and system stability. You can schedule the preset pulse options to run for the desired protocol suggested times — the pulse options are designed with safety in mind. Refer to our Hydrogen Protocol Calculator to determine the recommended schedule for your specific tank size and setup.
Does it work with aquarium controllers (Apex, GHL, etc.)?
Yes. The Copexa Core can be controlled via any standard aquarium controller or external timer through its power connection. It does not have direct API integration.
What’s the power consumption and heat output?
The unit draws approximately 60–80W during operation and produces moderate heat. We recommend placing it in a well-ventilated area.
How long is the pre-order / shipping timeline?
Current pre-order units are expected to ship within 4–6 weeks. You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped.
What is your return policy?
